Listed below are the important reminders and objectives for our week.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Important Reminders:

• Our last day of school before winter break is Tuesday December 20th!

Weekly Objectives:

Writing:  This week, we will continue our third writing unit: The Art of Information Writing.  This week we will be putting the finishing touches on our informational pieces and we will be publishing! 

Reading: This week we will continue our third reading unit: Reading to Learn.  We will focus on tackling hard words that complicate the text, looking at biographies in a different way, and seeking underlying ideas in the true stories we are reading!

Science:  This week we will begin Chapter 5: Ecosystems.  We will be reviewing what we have learned about habitats, food chains, and ecosystems. Our test over this chapter will be this Friday the 16th. 

Math:  We will take this week to review the multiplication and division strategies we have learned through the last few chapters!

Field Trip

We had an amazing day at Busch Stadium today!  Be sure to ask your child about all that they learned on this trip!  It was a great day!

Listed below are the important reminders and objectives for our week.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

Important Reminders:

• This Monday the 5th, is our field trip!  Make sure your student wears tennis shoes and brings a sack lunch.  
• December Scholastic order forms will be sent home this week. Please be sure to order by THIS Friday the 9th so we can get your books in before we leave for winter break!
• Wednesday is an Early Release day, 1:40! We will also be meeting in our Flyer Families. Please have your student wear their family shirts!
• We will have no more spelling sorts sent home until after winter break!

Writing:  This week, we will continue our third writing unit: The Art of Information Writing.  This week we will work on connecting our content through the chapters as well as polishing off our interesting facts and our introductions.

Reading: This week we will continue our third reading unit: Reading to Learn.  We will focus on reaching our reading goals that we set for ourselves as well as making sure we are reading nonfiction texts for significance, this means working to find something of interest each time we read!

Science:  This week we will continue Chapter 5: Ecosystems.  We will be finishing up our habitat posters and learning about food chains.

Math:  This week we will be finishing Chapter 7: Multiplication and Division Patterns.  We will focus on the multiplication and division patterns of 3, 4, 0 and 1.  The test for this chapter will be this Friday, December 9th.  Be on the lookout for a study guide to be sent home soon!
